Then don't engage in them. Why not address whether or not denying
reason is cruel? You do agree that denying reason, especially
causatively and willfully as Claire's denial of reason must be, is
cruel, right?
And if Claire is denying reason, which she is as a usual communication
practice, then your straw man "argument" is the straw man, would you
not agree?
