Dear FBI, Consul General and RCMP:

I am writing concerning a threatening posting made yesterday to the Internet newsgroup alt.religion.scientology by a pseudo-anonymous poster who identifies himself with the user name "Spacetraveler."

I am the Gerry Armstrong named in the thread "Hats off to Gerry Armstrong," and I am the Gerry in "Spacetraveler's" posting inciting to murder me. This is a hate crime against me motivated by bias toward race and religion, specifically because I am a member of the class of citizens identified in Scientology by race and religion as "Suppressive Persons."

My wife Caroline Letkeman and I take this post and threat by "Spacetraveler" very seriously. "Spacetraveler" positions himself as a Scientology authority who instructs people in Scientology "policies" and what individuals to hate and attack.

Over the past eight months or more the person or persons posting as "Spacetraveler" has generated an Internet campaign against me of what is called in Scientology "Black Propaganda" or "Black PR." Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard detailed how the organization and its agents were to black PR targets such as myself, with relentless lies and calumny to destroy the targets' reputation, credibility and livelihoods.

"Spacetraveler" has knowingly, willfully and repeatedly falsely accused me of theft, of being a thief, and of various other nefarious traits or activities.

Aside from the obvious willful destruction of a target's reputation and credibility, Scientology's purpose for its black PR campaigns is to create a public atmosphere in which it is acceptable and even laudatory to obliterate the target.

I have been physically assaulted by agents of the Scientology organization on four occasions, run into bodily by a car driven by an organization agent, terrorized on the highway, and threatened with assassination on another occasion by a Scientology agent.

There is a sick psychological component to "Spacetraveler's" challenge to his fellow Scientologists about how easy it is to murder me, that it would require "some doingness" to locate my whereabouts, and they would have to keep their hand steady when they shoot.

My whereabouts is well known, and is necessarily public because I am right now defending a lawsuit filed against me by Scientology, and I must reveal my address for service of papers in this litigation.

Scientology's lawsuit against me has been exposed as a component of the organization's conspiracy against my rights in violation of 18 USC §§241 and 242. Organization leaders are at great and immediate risk of losing their case(s) against me, and being prosecuted criminally for their conspiracy to destroy my rights and to have me unlawfully imprisoned on false charges. Thus these Scientology leaders have a great motivation at this time to have me murdered.

Scientology's leaders also have an enormous motivation for having me assassinated because they filed a patently false statement about me with the IRS, consisting of many pages of black propaganda, on which the organization's 1993 IRS tax exemption is based. Organization leaders should be criminally prosecuted for this false submission, the IRS officials who granted the tax exemption based on that false submission should be investigated, and Scientology's tax exemption should be revoked.

The individual in the Scientology organization responsible for the crimes committed against me for the past 23 years, responsible for the ongoing conspiracy to destroy my rights guaranteed by the US Constitution and laws, responsible for prosecuting Scientology's litigations against me, responsible for the mountain of black propaganda against me that his organization and agents have generated, responsible for Scientology's "religious" persecution of Caroline and me outside the U.S. as "Suppressive Persons," and responsible for the threats to my life, is Scientology leader David Miscavige.

Miscavige officially holds the position of Chairman of the Board of Religious Technology Center, whose official address is 1710 Ivar Avenue, Suite 1100, Los Angeles, California 90028. Miscavige is also the head of the Sea Organization, an unincorporated organization through which he operates all of Scientology world wide.

Miscavige is reported in his own organization's publication as gloating that Scientology is "shooting down" Suppressive Persons such as me "like ducks in a pond."

I ask that you investigate this latest threat by "Spacetraveler," and prosecute the person who made the threat.

I am well aware that the U.S. Justice Department, and very possibly the RCMP, have been infiltrated and compromised by Scientology agents, and have encouraged Scientology in its victimization of people, rather than protecting the victims. The Justice Department and the FBI are well aware of Scientology's criminal nature, and its campaign to destroy good people's rights, because of the July 1977 FBI raid on the organization's intelligence bureaus and the resulting prosecution and conviction of eleven of Scientology's agents. But the Justice Department and the FBI have since these convictions been supporting Scientology and encouraging its rise in power and influence and its destruction of its victims' civil rights.

I ask you to take this threat from a Scientology agent that lays out how easy it is for Scientologists to murder me as seriously as I take the threat. To grasp the seriousness simply replace my name in this threat with that of President Bush.

"You see, take a gun (they are all over the place), put a bullet in there (also easy). Now locate the whereabouts of President Bush (requires some doingness), then go to him (take a plane, that's fastest), wait for him (at some place), pull your gun (does not require much musclepower), then aim (some will have problems with this), and finally pull the trigger..(keep your hand steady or you'll miss altogether). Easy no?"

I believe that you would take very seriously such a threat against the U.S. President, and that you would act to identify the threat maker and to prosecute him. Unlike the President, I am very exposed, with no White House fortress to live in, and without any Secret Service, FBI and other agents to shield me. In fact, as I've mentioned above, the FBI, which should be protecting Scientology's victims, has, by inaction and action, been encouraging just this sort of threatening behavior from Scientology's leaders and agents.

Caroline and I feel we are in physical danger, and we request that you contact us and do whatever is in your power to protect us.
