Last Saturday on the market place in Karlsruhe the Junge Union (JU)
and a group
called "Ausstieg" endeavored to point out the danger of the
psycho cult
Scientology. In "Ausstieg" are a combination of people who
have been
members in cults like Jehovah's Witnesses and Scientology. The
presenters at the
information table had learned that Scientology would have a table on the
north
side of the market place after the legal permission for it had been
approved.
Several weeks ago, Scientology also had a big tent on the market
place, and
this event was also approved by the Office for Civic Services and
Security (BuS).
The psycho cult was well mannered there, gave away flowers and appealed
to young
people -- young people are also the target group that the JU feels
appropriate
to reach. It was especially to protect youth from the manipulation of
the cult
that they were on the market place on Saturday, and they were glad for
the help
of Scientology escapee Gerry Armstrong. The Canadian was a member of the
leadership's
inner circle and a close associate of L. Ron Hubbard, the founder of
Scientology,
before he dropped out more than ten years ago. Since that time he has
lived in
a secret place in Germany.
The operators of the Scientology booth constantly took pictures of
their "enemies"
but denied this when they where asked about it. The head of the police
authorities
(BuS) Dieter Behnle is certain that Scientology's intelligence service
OSA had
professionals on the scene.
