SUBJECT: YOUR LETTER OF OCTOBER 17, 1985

Dear Mr. Armstrong:

In the above-referenced letter you requested information
regarding the allegation in certain court documents that
this office is presently investigating certain "criminal
conduct" involving you.

It is the duty of the District Attorney, whenever alleg-
ations of criminal conduct are communicated to him, to
review them, to determine whether they have merit, and
then to decide what further action, if any, should be
taken. Certain allegations of criminal conduct have been
communicated to this office, and we are currently review-
ing them.

Any further representation regarding the current
activities of this office relative to the matter to which
you refer is inaccurate.
