Mr. Gerry Armstrong
LAW OFFICES OF FLYNN & JOYCE
400 Atlantic Avenue
Boston, Massachusetts 02210
Dear Mr. Armstrong:
Pursuant to your California Public
Records Act request,
members of the Los Angeles Police Department have concluded a
search of their records and the only files relating to you, which
they were able to locate consist of a burglary from a motor vehicle
report listing you as the victim, a follow-up to that report, and
files relating to an internal investigation of Officer Phillip
Rodriguez. While a substantial portion of the Rodriguez
investigation is confidential (California Penal Code section 832.7)
and therefor exempt from disclosure (California Government Code
section 6254(k)) the record of the public Board of Rights held in
that matter is not exempt.
Therefor, I am enclosing both the
burglary report and the
record of the Board of Rights proceedings. Fifteen pages of
discussion relating to the officers personnel package has been
removed pursuant to Government Code section 6254(k).
These documents constitute a total
of 433 pages. I
therefor request that you remit, by check made payable to the
Treasurer of the City of Los Angeles, the sum of $44.30 cents
pursuant to our telephonic agreement and applicable state and local
law.
Thank you for your patience and
courtesy in this matter.

Very truly yours,
JAMES K. HAHN, City Attorney
