OBSERVED IN NEW YORK In the year 1973 L Ron Hubbard went to New York in order to carry out sociological studies there. He found a city and a society, which, from the picture that he kept in his memory from earlier years, had changed drastically – for the worse. Thus he had already predicted at exactly that time the way in which our materialistically oriented society was moving: rampant immorality, violence as sport, and in the long run politics by terrorism. He did not simply leave it at that, however, with this gloomy prognosis; he developed the solution to stop society from sinking into a technological barbarism and instead to steer it again upward? A society – advanced on a materialistic level, but not however spiritually -- disintegrates, and the people can only watch filled with fear, since they lack any solutions.
