INGRAM INTERVIEW WITH CASEY LEE KLINGER AND MICHAEL ROMINELLO
Ingram met with Rominello and Klinger at their office at 7715 Sunset
Blvd (16 or 17 June 86). When Ingram initially started talking to them
there was a third (unidentified) person in the room, who left and
apparently called atty Palmieri as about an hour into the conversation
there was a call from the atty to stop the interview, the office having
been instructed not to speak to Ingram.
According to Rominello and Klinger, Mark Francovich was calling into
the office for Royce so frequently that Royce finally asked that the
calls not be put through. Royce told them that if Francovich called
they should tell him that Rocye was not in as he was bugging Royce so
badly. They did stop putting the calls through.
Rominello and Klinger claimed that the first they ever knew of
Scientology or the current case was about a month ago after the
subpoena was served at the office. (Royce was served at the office
mid May, and Casey Lee Klinger was later served.)
Ingram said that Klinger seemed to be pretty forthright and pleasant in
the interview. Klinger said that when he was served with the subpoena
for his own depo he asked Royce about it and Royce gave the story as he
describes it in his affi, that he made up the data he gave to
Francovich as Francovich was bugging him all the time about joining
(Scn) and was calling all the time. He thought the only way to get him
off his back was to say this about the judge. Ingram asked if he had
any data about the incident of the cash to the court reporter and
Klinger had no data, it was the first he'd heard of this.
Rominello and Klinger had no specifics about Scientology but did have
some generalized entheta -- that the people (Scientologists) stick
together and do anything to protect one another (had a negative
connotatin) and that in Scn you have to donate all your money. Ingram
DA'd that.
Ingram asked if Royce was present in the office so he could speak to
him but Royce wasn't there. They indicated that Royce had been there
when Ingram walked in the door and in fact had directed him to Casey's
door. Ingram was asking if he could speak to Royce and interview him
in front of Klinger and Rominello, just talk to the guy -- just at
that time the atty called in and the interview ended.

Other points that were covered in the conversation:
- that Bill Swearinger had worked down the hall, and that he had worked
for Steve and Stuart. Mike said he knew Bill because he worked for
their friends Steve and Stuart. (Basically confirmed the relationship
as Royce and Bill state it.)
- they said that Royce is not a mental giant, but is a real nice guy.
Casey explained that Royce doesn't have alot of confidence in his
ability, and Casey would double check Royce's work product, that Royce
might make errors like underbidding a product.
- that Rominello had gotten a call from someone in NY asking about
whether Royce was invovled in Porno films, and that Rominello called
back and the firm had never heard of the person who'd called. (This
was a PI call.) (That also came up in the Royce Walker depo.)
